One of the best food tours I’ve done! Our guide Angelo was knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly….Funny!
Visiting the kitchen where the best arancini is made was awesome! Angelo did an amazing job!
Be open-minded and make sure to try all of the food, even the spleen! A perfect way to kick off your visit in Palermo.
Marco took us to authentic places where the food was delicious. It’s understandable why this tour is so highly rated
Salvo is very open, talkative and entertaining, his knowledge of street food, culture and history of Palermo and Sicily is astonishing!
Just drop your guidebook, exit that food blog, stretch your belly and join our Palermo morning street food tour. Let’s dive together into the most authentic food scene of Palermo!
What you’ll do
Our Palermo street food tour and local market tour is an easy stroll with your laidback Sicilian friend around the markets of Capo and Vucciria. We will take our time among the food benches to spot the seasonal products and uncover the secrets of Sicilian cuisine. The experience starts from the very central Teatro Massimo but the rest of the time will be spent around the backstreets of the city center where not all tourists dare to wonder on their own. We will stop at our favorite street food vendors and offer you the specialties of the day.
This is going to be your morning into the daily life of Palermo, which includes a mandatory stop at the old tavern of Vucciria to drink and snack with the old men of the district. You will meet interesting Sicilian characters and raise your glass together!
During the morning street food and local market tour of Palermo you will get various information. Food is the main focus, but we also give insights on local culture, traditions and daily habits. We offer unfiltered walking tours, which means that we are happy to discuss both the cool and the uncool aspects of living in Palermo. As many travelers write in their reviews, it will feel like having a walk around Palermo with an old friend!
What you’ll eat
On this Palermo street food and local market tour you will have the chance to try the most authentic street food specialties of Palermo. You will taste the best arancini ever (stuffed rice ball), the unique Sfincione pizza, the vegetarian panelle and cazzilli fritters, the challenging pani ca’ meusa (veal offal roll), the famous cannoli with ricotta cream or the huge brioche col gelato (ice cream sandwich), but also beer, wine and some extra seasonal treats! Must know: traditional Sicilian street food is deliciously greasy, fried and full of carbs. We only offer what locals eat. The amount of food offered on this tour replaces a full meal.
